The Geelong Arts Centre, which has undergone a $38.5 million reconstruction, has now opened to the public. The new Ryrie Street entrance is located at a modern architectural facade, offering a brand-new experience for visitors from Geelong and beyond. As the only government-run arts centre outside of Melbourne in Victoria, this centre will meet the needs of the continuously growing creative and cultural community. The application of glass-fibre reinforced concrete (GRC) in the Geelong Arts Centre and other construction projects showcases the material's versatility and aesthetic potential. GRC enables the creation of complex, sculptural forms, while being lightweight and durable. The choice of this material supports the innovative design goals of modern architecture, providing a medium for achieving complex geometries and fine textures.
